I use the same keywords on each of my pages should I optimise each of my pages for different key words?

Well the answer to that question is yes. However, please pay close attention as it’s a little more complicated than that.

It is extremely difficult to successfully optimise a web page for more than 3 or 4 keyword phrases and you should try to optimise your home page for your top 3 – 4 key word’s or keyword phrases.

However, keep in mind that the message your home page contains needs to be enticing and readable by your visitors.

WARNING: DO NOT create multiple pages featuring the same content only changing the keyword phases on each page.

This is considered a “black hat” technique and could seriously damage your search engine rankings not improve them.

I’ve seen many websites and believe it or not some SEO companies adopt this method and although for a month or so they had really good search engine results – I can’t find them anymore!

Instead follow the Google motto and “Do No Evil”. Only post pages that are relevant and useful to your visitors. Do not create pages solely for search engine purposes.

With that in mind in our next post I’ll be showing you how to effectively and legitimately optimise your pages for the search engines.
